Topic: “Working Together to
Establish The Standardized Food Safety and
Quality Framework”
Speaker: Lito Castelo, Manager, Supplier Quality
Programs, Global Quality, The Coca-Cola Company
Abstract
Learn the benefits and challenges when
establishing a common framework for Food Safety
and Quality Management system requirements for
suppliers.
The marketplace in which food
and beverage companies operate and the broader
business world is evolving in significant ways.
Of particular note is “Extended Producer
Responsibility- Managing the environmental and
social issues within one’s own factory walls
appropriately is no longer a sufficient basis
for maintaining a good corporate reputation. The
public now holds major companies responsible for
activities up and down the supply chain. For The
Coca-Cola Company, this means that its
stewardship activities must extend to the
company’s suppliers and customers and must be
carried out in partnership with the full
Coca-Cola system.”
The Coca-Cola Company is the
world’s largest non-alcoholic beverage company.
Along with the Coca-ColaŽ trademark, recognized
as the world’s most valuable brand, the Company
markets four of the world’s top five
nonalcoholic sparkling beverage brands,
including Coca-ColaŽ, Diet CokeŽ, FantaŽ and
SpriteŽ beverages, and a wide range of other
non-alcoholic beverages, including diet and
light beverages, waters, juices and juice
drinks, teas, coffees, energy and sports drinks.
Through the world’s largest beverage
distribution system, consumers in more than 200
countries enjoy the Company’s beverages at a
rate exceeding 1.4 billion servings each day.
