Topic: “China’s Early Warning System for
High Risk Foods”

Shanghai Food Research Institute
Abstract
It is very important food safety guarantee
that establishes a suitable food safety
precautionary system and improves the
competences of defending and controlling
food-borne hazards. In recent years there have
been many development: EC General Food
Law-precautionary principle; and rapid alter
system for food (RAS); China research on the
precautionary system for import and export food.
As an international city and
the host of Expo 2010, Shanghai will be
international gathering, and food safety
precaution system should be used to enhance
protection of citizen’s health and minimize the
incidence of food-borne hazards. The practical
application in Shanghai of research on the food
precautionary technology will be discussed
during the speech.
Biography
Mr. Ma Zhiying, born in 1949, is the Vice
Director and Chief Engineer of Shanghai Food
Research Institute and Secretary General of
Branch of Food Safety, Shanghai Society of Food
Science. Since he graduated
from East China Chemical Institute in 1982, Mr.
Ma has been engaged in scientific research of
food engineering, food chemistry, food packaging
and freshness and food safety. His main research
scope includes food safety, food processing
technique, food biochemical engineering, food
packaging and freshness, fine processing of
agricultural products and comprehensive usage
technology. He successfully finished over ten
R&D projects, such as study on alerting highly
dangerous food in Shanghai area and processing
control technology, research of key technologies
for kitchen food industrialization and pilot
application, application of barrier technology
on Chinese-style meat and poultry products,
study on quality control of packaged cooked food
circulated in low temperature and others. He won
one national prize of scientific and
technological breakthrough in 1995, two
secondary prizes and two third-level prizes of
commercial technological progress of the
country. He was also awarded one third-level
prize of scientific and technological progress
of Shanghai Municipality. Now he is in charge of
three development projects of Shanghai Municipal
Science and Technology Committee. Many of his
research results are applied extensively in the
country, over 100 million yuan profits are
achieved by the enterprises which apply his
research achievements. He also published more
than 40 papers on domestic and overseas major
publications. Mr. Ma has been
named a model worker for three years in
succession by the government of Shanghai
Municipality and Ministry of Human Resources. He
was also awarded a title of an advanced worker
by the Ministry of Internal Commerce.<back> |
